Occupational Health Business Consultancy

I have worked in the Occupational Health sector for nine years as a business development consultant and an intermediary. My exposure to clients of all sectors industries and size has exposed me to a range of issues they face. I have also experienced and been part of the success they have developed through well run occupational health programmes.

Working in competition with many leading providers and looking at the organisations I was proud to be a part of also taught me a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of the service offerings. I then worked briefly as an intermediary with a number of large and a greater number of smaller providers and discovered how much we could all learn from each other to improve and be in a position to deliver the best service to clients in the UK

A lot of the smaller providers are offering excellent services and in many cases superior services without the sales or account management capability of the larger chaps, therefore they often are sidelined by clients who in many cases just lack the confidence to engage a smaller service provider.

I am a great believer in the power that occupational health can provide to employers and employees in this country. Helping employees back to work in a timely manner, maintaining a position of dignity that is found through the independence work offers, preventing absence when unnecessary is motivation enough to make great services available to as many as possible. Employers should see occupational health as an evidence based return on their investment not a cost on a spreadsheet.
